Modification to the original Fukuda design incorporates an additional forward bend at the distal 15mm. This allows the retractor to sit firmly on the posterior neck of the glenoid and reduces the chance of glenoid rim fractures. A series of shallow atraumatic grooves around the rim of the fenestration improves traction.
